They say that a picture tells a thousand words. Well, let me show you video footage from London that tells you all you need to know about what’s wrong with the Western world right now.
A group of climate protestors from Just Stop Oil decided to stand in the middle of a road, preventing commuters from getting to work.
Police were on the scene, but standing on the footpath, with their backs to the protestors, chatting amiably to bystanders.
That’s when a frustrated tradie, by now running late for a job, decided to take matters into his own hands.
Have a look at what happens next …
Police won’t remove protestors blocking motorists. But they will remove the motorist who tries to remove the protestors blocking motorists.
Which begs the question, just who are the police protecting these days?
It’s not just that police WON’T do their job. Police will arrest the people who do the job they refuse to do.
Now this is particularly galling for Londoners since police didn’t have any problem clearing roads for Prime Minister Rishie Sunak when he needed to get to an engagement …
That’s a motorcade the North Koreans would be proud of.
By my count, the British Prime Minister had a dozen police on push bikes, 22 police running on foot and 3 police on motorcycles.
But he’s a politician, not a tradie trying to earn a living.
No Extinction Rebellion protest was going to prevent the PM from getting to where he was going.
And what about King Charles’ Coronation?
Twentynine thousand officers were deployed to ensure his golden carriage made the 2.5km trip from palace to church without interruption.
But he’s the King, trying to work out which of seven palaces, 10 castles, 12 homes and 56 cottages he’ll sleep in tonight, not a factory worker worried about how he’ll afford rent for his 2-bedroom flat if he gets the sack for being late to work because a bunch of eco-terrorists wouldn’t get off the road.
I fully understand why the London tradie lost his temper.
Afterall, he pays for the roads, he pays for the police officer’s salaries, and he pays for the unemployment benefits the Just Stop Oil protestors are likely living on … and this is how he is treated.
Is it any wonder ordinary people around the Western world are now regularly complaining that the “elites” hate them.
When the police and the climate protestors’ security detail – but I repeat myself – are now seem more interested in looking after the law-breaking work-shy eco-loons than they are the hard-working taxpayers that pay their wages … you do start to believe the whole system is rigged against you.
The police in this instance are doing what they can to protect the WRONG people. The police are literally FACILITATING roads being blocked.
Everyone understands the importance of allowing people to protest, but the right to protest is not the right to interfere with others. So protest on the side of the road if you must, but not on it … obstructing law-abiding citizens from trying to earn a living.
You might have noticed the police officer helping the protestor off the ground before running to attack the worker. That says it all really. Those aren't police serving the public, they're activists in uniform, serving a political ideology.
Activists like to boast about direct action fighting the climate. But when ordinary people take direct action fighting to get to work on time, they don’t like it one bit.
And nor, as it turns out, do the police.
Metropolitan Police actually put out a tweet prior to the incident advising the public …
“We are aware that Just Stop Oil protestors are walking slowly in Bayswater Road. Police are on their way and will be at the scene promptly to assess the situation.
“Assess the situation” being code for Police asking protestors if they’d like to be served refreshments.
After arriving at the protest and doing absolutely nothing, Deputy Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor issued a further statement saying …
“I completely understand the frustration and anger of London’s communities when protestors walk slowly in the roads and must wonder why we do not just arrest them.”
Wait. If the Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Do Nothing understands the community’s frustration, why were his officers instructed to ignore the cause of community frustration and act instead against community members who expressed that frustration?
“We must police peaceful protest in a proportionate manner,” he explained.
“This morning’s incident in which a member of the public assaulted two protestors was unacceptable and we deal with anyone who behaves in this way
“Officers on the scene responded proportionately. They detained the man in handcuffs to prevent further Breach of the Peace.
That’s right. The member of the public was stopping the protestors from stopping members of the public from getting to work. And, apparently, whoever the police are answering to, couldn’t have that.
I've been saying this a lot lately. We are witnessing, in real time, the rapid, submersible explorer-type implosion of society. Sanity, reason and common-sense are non-existent in all facets of leadership at every level. Those who dare to raise a voice of dissent are quickly denounced and vilified for daring to think for themselves while deviancy, deceit, corruption and insanity are lauded, celebrated and enforced. Good is called evil and evil, good.
If people do not see it by now they are either hopelessly, wilfully blind or part of the problem.
Ultimately it's a spiritual battle, being wrought in the physical realm.
Normal ain't coming back. Jesus is. Best be ready.
Great piece James! I often reflect on why I reside in a rural town by choice. The more I do so, the more satisfied am I. This incident is reflective of the idiocy that prevails in large cities.
