Sydney Mayor Rejects Plan to Light Up Town Hall for Israel
Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore has flown flags for lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders and queers.
She has flown flags for Ukraine, and for the United Nations.
Last week she flew the Aboriginal flag at half mast to mourn democracy.
But Clover announced at the weekend she would refuse a request to light up City Hall in the colours of the Israeli flag.
Why?
Because it would fly in the face of the council’s values of “harmony and inclusion”.
