Our Politicians Must Stop Kowtowing to Islamists
Two things happened this week that should be major wake up calls for politicians
Two things happened this week that should be major wake up calls for politicians who insist on indulging Islamists.
One of Victoria’s most prominent Islamic leaders has labelled Hamas’ October 7 massacre of Jews a “legitimate act of resistance”.
It’s not some radical extremist saying this. It’s Adel Salman, president of the Islamic Council of Victoria.
Salman, who has been invited to dine with the Victorian Premier to mark the end of Ramadan, only refused to condemn the rape, murder and kidnapping of Israelis on October 7, he praised it.
Speaking on ABC radio he said …
“I’m not going to condemn the Palestinians for resisting. I’m not going to condemn Palestinians for trying to break their siege on their territory.
“It is absolutely legitimate for the Palestinians to try to break the siege of Gaza.”
As a quick aside, there was no siege in Gaza prior to October 7. Thousands of Gaza residents worked in Israel every day.
Anyway, I have questions …
Will the Islamic Council of Victoria renounce the statements of its current president, Adel Salman, and replace him?
If not, are we to assume the Islamic Council of Victoria supports and agrees with him?
Hamas is a listed terror organisation. How is it that an organisation expressing support for a terror organisation gets to dine with the the Victorian Premier at taxpayer expense?
Now, of course, I could call on the Victorian Government to immediately rescind the invitation, but there is no need. Salman, along with other Muslim representatives, has said he won’t go because he doesn’t like the government’s policy Gaza.
And so an apologetic Premier Jacinta Allan was forced to cancel the whole thing.
Allan said the dinner was insensitive at a time when so many Palestinians were suffering. She would, instead, have private more intimate catch ups with Islamic leaders.
Talk about allowing yourself to be gaslit!
So you’ve got two things going on here - both of which are being ignored by senior political leaders in this country.
You have a prominent Muslim leader supporting Hamas, about which the Victorian Premier says nothing.
And you have prominent Islamic leaders attempting to bully MPs over their support for the Middle East’s only liberal democracy - to which the Victorian Premier kowtows.
These are worrying times. British MPs have reported being threatened that if they do not vote according to the Muslim community’s wishes they will be harmed.
We don’t want to see that here.
But if the political class continue to bend over to threats, intimidation and support for terror, it is only a matter of time before a group is bold enough to believe it can get away it.
Someone should send this to Jacinta Allan; maybe a broader sane view of the lead up to the cancelled event might trigger a glimmer of reality of where this is going - well one could hope!
Remember when the Shar of Iran was over thrown by the mullahs and an Islamic state declared. Many different goups opposed the Shar but the mullahs seized control. What happened then? All the left wing groups, communists and homsexuals ie all the woke were arrested and tortured to death, got a bullet in the head or were " shot while trying to escape".
40 years later the mullahs are still in total control but apparently many of the young people refuse to go to the mosques having seen or experienced the corruption of the mullahs. The church is quietly growing.
