I first met Andrew Bolt in 2016.
Andrew had agreed to speak at a leadership conference I was hosting, but then had to pull out at the last minute. It was a problem, since we had sold hundreds of registrations based on the fact that he would be there.
As a compromise, I flew to Melbourne with a film crew and we recorded a one-hour interview to show at our event. Andrew was incredibly gracious and generous in that interview as we discussed everything from the church to Islamic extremism.
The interview was a hit with conference attendees.
A few weeks later, to my surprise, I got a call from a producer on The Bolt Report who asked if they could have the footage of that interview. They wanted to dedicate an entire episode of his program to screening my interview with him.
So I am the first and only person ever to interview Andrew Bolt on the Bolt Report!
Fast forward six years and I now find myself working at Sky News Australia on a show with Andrew’s son James as the producer.
On top of that, I’m Andrew’s guest on The Bolt Report every Thursday, along with Daisy Cousins. It’s one of the highlights of my week and I think people are enjoying it. If you missed this week’s episode, grab a coffee and take five minutes to watch. I think you’ll like it … especially the end!
Oh, and if you don’t have Foxtel but want to watch The Bolt Report (and of course The Late Debate Mondays - Thursdays) you can go to Flashnews.com.au, download the app and watch for just $2 a week.
On Andrew Bolt
Just adding my bit to asking if you are okay James? Been missing your wonderful take on current issues and having a laugh at what is going on. Hope you are alright and that we will hear from you soon.
Agh, I see others are asking about the 'absence' of your emails. And I can't see any response from you. Have you been ok? I went back through the emails and noticed on the 11th Feb you started a little note above 'subscribe' about pledging our support. However, I can't seem to find any notification about this - did I miss it? Is this what we need to do to keep receiving your emails? Are you still producing them? You do have a lot more on your plate now. Sorry to write this here but I couldn't find any other way to contact you :-) This is the last email I have received from you.
