The best social commentary you’ll hear sung today …
Oliver was struggling in life, and drinking to cope.
He says that a bit over a month ago he reached the depths of despair.
He says he’s not a particularly religious person, but he got on his knees and, through tears, prayed.
It was one of those ‘God if I do this, will you do that?’ kinda prayers.
He promised God he would get sober if God. And he asked God to help him with his dream.
Oliver was about 30 days sober when asked if he would record a song for a YouTube channel.
He recorded this song, "Rich Men North of Richmond."
Within a couple of days it has had millions of views and is now number one on iTunes. Oliver joined Twitter a few days ago and already has more than 300,000 followers.
His song is on track to become the official anthem for working men and women.
It is a great song and if the little people have no other way to have a voice then let this be their heralding cry... so many of our “leaders” have no connect whatsoever with the real world.
God is good hallelujah He will never fail us. Love the song so good yes it's like a bloody nightmare you just want to wake up and everything is NORMAL again. I guess heaven can't come sooner!!
