It must be fantabulous to live in a city where crime is so rare that police have time to shimmy along the streets in gay parades.
But not all the gays in Melbourne take Pride in such gestures.
And so it was that coppers marching in yesterday’s Midsumma Pride March were pelted with paint bombs by a rainbow of around 50 queers opposed to their participation.
Victorian Police Commissioner Shane Patton - who had joined the LGBTQ march along with about 100 of his absolutely gorgeous officers - was outraged.
“Nothing but contempt,” he thundered when asked how he felt about the protestors.
Now he nows how most Victorians feel about his police department.
