Australian-born transgendered cricketer Danielle McGahey's international career with the Canadian women's team appears to be over.
Cricket’s governing body ruled this week that if you have (or ever had) a penis, you shouldn’t be running around with women on a cricket field.
No more bowling maidens over!
The good news, however, is that McGahey is still very much eligible to play for the men’s team, like he used to, at local level I mean!
McGahey, 29, played grade cricket with men (because he was a man) in Melbourne.
Then he moved to Canada and started batting for the other side, socially transitioning to female in November 2020. He had gone the full slog by May 2021.
By October 2022, McGahey was opening bat for the Canadian chicks.
Not that McGahey did that well …
