Nine News Shuts Down Facebook Comments After People Cheer for Murder
A worrying number of people here support violence in response to sleights on Islam
Channel Nine yesterday posted on Facebook a report about a man who was shot dead in Sweden for burning a copy of the Quran - and then had to turn off the comments after being overwhelmed by people cheering the man’s murder.
It seems there are a lot of people here in Australia who view death as an appropriate punishment for disrespecting Islam.
All just part of the wonderful tapestry of multiculturalism, I suppose. Say it with me, diversity is our strength!

Salwan Momika, an Iraqi man who sparked outrage by staging Koran-burning protests in Sweden in 2023, has been shot dead, according to Swedish authorities.
Stockholm police said that five people had been arrested on Wednesday night on suspicion of murder.
Momika, an Iraqi migrant, was on trial for incitement to racial hatred and a verdict was due this week.

A bullet to the temple of the defendant does tend to postpone sentencing. Who knew?
The Iraqi had previously told CNN he burned the Quran because be believed the Islamic text posed a danger “to democracy, ethics, human values, human rights, and women's rights.”
Muslims disagreed that the Quran posed any danger and killed the Quran’s critic to prove it.
