My Take on the Essendon CEO Saga
Christians are now the most marginalised group in the country
Christians – with their traditional views on sexuality and their annoying insistence that babies in the womb are human – have become one of the most marginalised groups in Australia.
If that sounds alarmist, consider the apoplectic reaction to news on Monday that church-going Andrew Thorburn has been appointed CEO of the Essendon Football Club.
What a sorry mess for all concerned.
My first question was, how and why he was offered the CEO position in the first place?
Old boy network or secret handshake stuff?
Essendon could have avoided this if the right questions had been asked prior to making him CEO and he is a hypocrite and immoral for siding with his alleged religious beliefs but under his leadership while CEO of NAB, was instrumental in the AFL gay pride rounds.
Surely those in power at Essendon would have known he was criticised by the Banking RC for the fleecing of bank customers for Fees for No Service.
Plus he didn’t stick around at Essendon and fight for his religious beliefs and now, somehow he is the victim.
A sorry mess and I have no sympathy for any of them.
So wrong!!! When will they get the log out of their own eye while making assumptions about the so-called speck in others. He hasn’t even had time to show his bigotry, homophobic, hatred & exclusion & they’re already throwing accusations. Oh! That’s right…he goes to church & one that is pro-life & man/woman marriage, that’s obviously going to effect his running of a football club!!! Here we go again… them throwing someone out to uphold their stance on inclusion!
