The media's crazy double standard in assessing Trump's team
The USA’s 60 Minutes program broadcast an entire segment on Sunday criticising Trump appointees.
Trump’s nomination for Secretary of Defence, Border Czar and Energy Secretary were devoid of qualifications and experience, the program said.
Other left wing media outfits have weighed in similarly.
MSNBC commentators said Trump’s ‘inappropriate’ nominations were endangering the future of America.
Those media outlets are, of course, entitled to their opinions.
What’s hilarious, though, is that they never seemed to voice any concerns about Biden appointees.
Biden’s decision to put Drag Queen Sam Brinton in charge of nuclear waste never bothered 60 Minutes in the slightest.
And when Rachel Levine, who failed miserably leading Pennsylvania’s health response to Covid-19, was made Assistant Health Secretary of the US, the left wing media celebrated.
Rachel was, after all, trans!! Whoo-hoo!
The left-wing media were unbothered by the constant obfuscation and lies from White House Spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre.
She was female.
But better, she was black.
But best of all, she was a proud lesbian.
It didn’t matter that she was hopelessly incompetent. She was, by her own admission and the media’s, “historic”!!
Biden’s Transport Secretary Pete Buttigieg, wasn’t just gay - he was “openly gay”.
The media preferred to celebrate his homosexuality than worry too much about how completely incompetent he was.
And Deb Haaland was celebrated by the media for being the first Native American in a president’s cabinet.
That she ticked a diversity box meant any serious discussion about her suitability was unnecessary.
I remember NPR doing an analysis of the Biden appointees based entirely on their diversity qualifications.
Note that. The analysis was not based on their expertise, past achievements or qualifications. It was based on whether or not they ticked diversity boxes and which ones they ticked.

And on that basis, NPR looked approvingly at Biden’s cabinet picks.
So, when you read that Trump’s appointees are unqualified, or lacking in expertise, or devoid of previous experience … just remember how those same media outlets were happy to let all of that slide for Biden appointees who had the right melanin, orientation or sexual fetish.
Unbelievable! This is what the western world has had to put up with for the last four years! It is incredible that these people get jobs on their sexual preference rather than their ability to done job! And they have been very well paid. Definitely time to drain the swamp which has gotten deeper and spread out further. It will take a lot of concrete to close the entrance and stop the stench
The funny thing is, these media outlets truly appear to have learnt nothing. Even as they continue to lose viewers, listeners and readers by the truckload they are so committed to their ideologies of racial, gender and sexual orientation that skill, competence, aptitude, qualifications and experience never enter their deeply flawed thinking. Their concept of diversity only goes skin deep but never involves the character, values, worldview and ideas of the individual.
