It's Not Racist to Prioritise National Security

The sooner Dutton is in the Lodge the better off we'll all be

Is Peter Dutton a racist for insisting there should be a blanket ban on arrivals from Gaza?

Of course not.

No-one likes war. And no-one is unmoved by the suffering it brings to people on all sides of a conflict.

But compassion and wisdom are not mutually exclusive.

It’s not racist to insist that our refugee program assists rather than damages social cohesion.

It’s not racist to insist that our refugee program targets those in need whose values most closely align with our own.

It’s not racist to insist that the safety of the Australian community must not be compromised by our refugee program.

And it’s not racist to insist that where proper security checks cannot be done, people should not be admitted.

Why would we be considered racist for refusing to take people that Muslim nations refuse to take?

Also, it’s not racist to not want to end up like the UK.

Dutton is not a racist, he’s a Prime Minister in waiting.

Anthony Albanese is not a racist either. But nor is he a Prime Minister.

Under Anthony Albanese’s government, it was far easier to become a resident if you were a criminal than a skilled tradesperson.

And Albanese is so weak he will not say that Hamas supporters should be banned from entry to Australia for fear of upsetting Muslim voters in Western Sydney.

I would go a step further and argue that reason his government wants to bring 3000 people from Gaza permanently to Australia is to appease Western Sydney voters.

Peter Dutton is taking a principled position on the refugees from Gaza, putting national security ahead of electoral politics. That is called leadership. It has been in short supply the past two years.

Albanese’s immigration minister Tony Burke said there would be “no compromise on national security”, but confirmed that face-to-face interviews were unable to be conducted with visa applicants in Gaza.

Right. So there is a compromise on national security then.

Anthony Albanese said Peter Dutton was “looking to divide” the nation.

Well if anyone knows what it is to divide the nation, it’s Anthony Albanese. Seriously. Can you believe this guy?

And then Albanese warned that Peter Dutton was using “inflamed language” that the ASIO Director had recently warned could increase the likelihood of terrorism.

So you’re not raising the likelihood of terrorism by importing terrorist sympathisers. It’s only if you object to importing terrorist sympathisers that you are making terrorism more likely.

I swear there has been a major glitch in the Matrix and we are all trapped.

Predictably the Australian National Imams Council described Mr Dutton’s policy as “racism at its finest”.

This is the mob that hasn’t been able to bring themselves to condemn the October 7 attacks.

So I think we’ll take their moral posturing with a very large dose of salt.

Labor is struggling to explain how it will keep us safe.

“She'll be right mate!" is not good enough.

Dutton, on the other hand, is a leader who knows wise from foolish without having to check polling data and focus groups. The sooner he’s in the Lodge, the better off we’ll all be.
