Is 2023 the new 1939, but in colour?
The Israeli Government yesterday warned Jews across the world to hide their identities.
Government spokesman Elon Levy shook his head in disbelief, even as he spoke.
“Today the national security council and ministry of foreign affairs put out an unusual global travel warning,” he said.
Then he paused before advising …
“We are asking citizens - and truly I cannot believe that we are doing this - to avoid displaying any outward signs of their Jewish identity when travelling anywhere in the world.”
He described the global situation - with mass anti-Israel protests breaking out around the world - as a “moment of peril for the Jewish people worldwide”.
Just 80 years after the Holocaust, the Israeli Government is warning Jews across the world to hide their Jewishness.
Gone are the days of “keep your religion to yourself”, as if that was fair. Now Jews are being sought out … from Tel Aviv to Dagestan to Lyon where a Jewish woman was stabbed in her own home over the weekend. Police found a Swastika plastered to her door.
And in Detroit, just two weeks ago, local synagogue president Samantha Woll was found stabbed to death on her front doorstep. Two days later police said they had no leads but were “confident” it was not a hate crime. Two weeks later, still no leads. Just a dead Jew. One of those things that happens, from time to time.
The US State Department’s special envoy for combating antisemitism told the Washington Post overnight that the level of hatred toward Jewish people right now was “gobsmacking”.
