New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has been caught on a hot mic referring to a fellow MP as an “arrogant prick”.
The darling of global politics had answered a series of questions from political opponent David Seymour before sitting down and muttering under her breath …
“Such an arrogant prick”
News of the exchange, picked up by a parliamentary microphone, is disappointed and disillusioning.
We had been assured that, if only we elected more women to parliament, the once noble art of politics would be lifted from the gutter into which toxic masculinity had thrown it.
We had been promised that, if only we appointed more women to positions of leadership, civil discourse would be kinder, gentler and more serene.
Next minute …
The poster girl for women in leadership is engaging in the worst kind of misandry, calling male colleagues “arrogant pricks”.
Next thing you know, Jacinda ‘butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth’ Adern will be insisting she is the sole source of truth and attempting to destroy her nation’s farming industry with a fart tax.
Seriously, imagine the uproar if a male MP had referred to the Kiwi PM as a ‘bitch’?
But all is not lost. There are still plenty of women in leadership who can show us the way to a more beautiful, polite, civilised society.
I’m thinking of Senator Jacqui Lambie who once described her ideal man as “well hung”.
I’m thinking of Senator Lidia Thorpe who once suggested a political opponent should have “shut her legs” to avoid her autistic child’s birth.
I’m thinking of Senator Mehreen Faruqi who once tweeted that then Prime Minister Scott Morrison should “Just f#$k off”.
Ah yes. More women and less men is the key to restoring the dignity of political office.
Or - and this is just a thought - we could stop this idiotic demonisation of men for the crime of being men, and we could cease the equally stupid deification of women for being women.
Instead, we could just assess each person on their merits without reference to their genitals as a guide to character.
Hahahaha … I’m joking of course! This is 2022, where membership of the right identity group is the only measure that matters. Only an arrogant prick would suggest otherwise.

sex should have nothing to do with your ability to be a politician, all you need to be qualified is to be able to lie with a straight face.
The blind, arrogant fools in politics who are advocates for 'Gender Equality', think everything is all about them. They have completely forgotten that the responsibility of the worker is actually to SERVE those by whom the worker is being paid.
This utterly self-centred, self-absorbed 'Gender Equality' movement is paying a gross disservice to society as a whole. The incompetence displayed by those who have been chosen for a job on account of their genitalia, is debilitating for both individuals and the whole of society.
