Human Rights Commission Is Five Years Too Late

The Human Rights Commission yesterday released a report damning the Victorian Government for trampling human rights during the Covid pandemic.

Wait. What? The pandemic was in 2020!

This Human Rights Commission report damns the Human Rights Commission!

What sort of human rights organisation only gets around to speaking out against human rights abuses five years after the fact, and long after most of those responsible for the abuses have left office?

Those of us who spoke against human rights abuses when the abuses were taking place risked censure, loss of employment and even arrest.

How nice that the taxpayer funded body charged with protecting human rights in this country was able to wait until it was safe to speak out before even saying ‘boo’.

The AHRC should be embarrassed to release this report …
