Last week the hot favourite to become New York’s mayor refused to condemn Hamas.

This week he is insisting that if you don’t visit mosques, you’re not qualified to run the Big Apple.

During a debate with his opponent last night he told the audience …

“It took Andrew Cuomo being beaten by a Muslim candidate in the Democratic Primary for him to set foot in a mosque.

“He had more than ten years and he couldn’t name a single mosque that he had visited.

“And what Muslims want in this city is what every community wants and deserves. They want equality and they want respect. That frankly is something that is shameful.”

Shameful indeed - though perhaps not in the way Mamdani imagines …
