Prince Charles recognised Lidia Thorpe immediately.
“She’s the court jester, right?”
“Yes, yes,” Anthony Albanese assured him. “She’s been playing the fool for years now!”
The joker from Victoria put on a fine performance yesterday, producing a foul-mouthed rant for the ages that left King Charles and his Queen in stitches.
In a perfectly time piece of theatre, Court Jester Thorpe waited until the end of the King’s speech before storming toward the stage yelling at the monarch “you are not our King”, “ give us treaty” and “f..k the colony.”
Charles and Camilla beamed with delight.
Not since Roland the Farter - who used to finish each performance for King Henry II with a simultaneous jump, whistle, and fart - had British royals been treated to such inanity.
“She’s good,” King Charles whispered to his Queen.
“She’s actually very good. Not much of a farter, but her attitude certainly stinks …
The Prime Minister, hugely relived that King Charles was in on the joke, immediately boasted that Thorpe was not the only joker in the Australian Parliament.
“We have another clown named Jacqui Lambie,” the PM boasted. “She’s also very amusing.
“She once joked that she wouldn’t even look at a man unless he was ‘well hung’,” he said.
Before adding under this breath, “I think that’s why she’s never dated anyone from my side of politics.”
King Charles started to laugh but quickly regained his composure when he realised Albanese wasn’t joking.
Meanwhile, Thorpe’s buffoonery continued as she threw herself into what was rapidly becoming an impromptu royal gala performance …
