Er, “chilling” for whom, exactly?
Is it chilling for the Australian Greens who seem to love Hamas?
Is it chilling for Penny Wong and her Federal Labor colleagues who continually treat the Hamas terror organisation as if it is a legitimate actor?
Or is it a chilling warning for Hamas - a bunch of raping, murdering devils?
Of course it is chilling for Hamas.
Release the hostages immediately or you are all dead.
About time someone gave Hamas an ultimatum. How the world put up with games and pantomimes and deals with a terrorist organisation for this long is beyond me.
Back in the day it was understood that you never negotiated with terrorists. How we ever got to the insane "I'll give you 1 hostage back if you release 100 odd terrorists" is also beyond me. Must be showing my age!
James, you're thinking like I do: Since Israel is at War with the Gazans/HAMAS/Islamic Jihad etc. why, on earth, didn't Netanyahu and his men give that evil lot an ultimatum: "Free every hostage. If not, there won't be a single bean and drop of water for you lot." That's how it has been throughout history in warfare. And never mind fantasizing about International Law and a misplaced humanitarianism. This situation is totally beyond all that.
