Some-time Australian Cate Blanchett has slammed Australia’s asylum seeker policy.
The actress urged European leaders to focus on the protection of refugees rather than on securing national borders.
She also advised migrants from the Middle East and North Africa that she’s having an open house at her joint in Kent this Saturday.
I’m kidding.
She’s a champagne socialist, remember.
Blanchett, who was really good in Lord of the Rings, is now a Goodwill Ambassador for Mordor - or as some prefer to call it - the United Nations.
Speaking from rarified air, the one time elven queen, said Australia’s “discredited” approach to asylum seekers had created “psychological damage”.
