It’s not often that a tweet from UN Women makes me mad. But the timing of this one made my blood boil.
You see, at the exact same time the United Nations was virtue-tweeting about the importance of women, an Israeli woman - ignored by the UN for more than a year - was finally allowed to leave captivity in Gaza.
Timing really is everything in life.

For more than a year Arbel was kept in chains by Hamas sex pests as a casino chip in their macabre game of chicken with the State of Israel.
It is impossible to imagine the horrors the 28-year-old endured during that time, or the terror experienced by her parents who wondered every day if their daughter was dead or alive.
Not even once was Arbel recognised by an international women’s group during the 16 months of her captivity.
Arbel was never mentioned by organisations like Amnesty International.
She was never represented by a leading ‘feminist’ group.
She was never advocated for by anyone at the United Nations. Not once.
