Animal rights group PETA is demanding the Brisbane Broncos change their name.
Why?
The football team’s use of a bucking bronco for their mascot apparently promotes rodeos.
I know what you’re thinking. What a bunch of donkeys. Except they’re not horsing around.
Get a load of the statement they trotted out this week …
“PETA is asking the Brisbane Broncos to retire Buck and move away from imagery such as bucking broncos, which glorifies rodeos.”
Rein it in!
If this country’s biggest animal welfare issue is the use of bronco imagery to promote a rugby team, then Australian animals are doing very, very well.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals may have a colt following, but it will quickly disappear if they persist with unstable rubbish like this.
But the group wasn’t done.
