An Australian couple have been threatened with fines for photographing a rock.

Not just any rock, of course. No, that would be absurd.

Britt and Tim Cromie were threatened with fines for sharing photos of The Rock - Uluru.

You might remember it as Ayers Rock, a name used by impolite colonisers back when people thought naming things after governors was charming rather than genocidal.

Anyway, It’s not like the travel vloggers spray-painted graffiti on the rock, or carved a love heart into Uluru.

They merely photographed the large sandstone formation that - spoiler alert - has already been photographed more times than the Queen.

And, for that, they was threatened with fines.

You see, it’s not enough to say “sorry” anymore.

No, no. We’ve said sorry.

In fact, we've said it so often, the apology has been carbon-dated …
